Christmas is just around the corner once again — and we couldn’t be more excited. We can already feel the holiday spirit wherever we go. That’s why we decided to add more to the season!
As movie buffs, we’re doing our own part of spreading the holiday cheer by bringing out the big guns from our collections and reminiscing on some of our favorite Yuletide movies. This time around, we’ve compiled the best Christmas movie quotes to certainly get you in the mood, from cheesy to funny and beyond.
Whether you’re spending this season with your family, friends or your significant other, be sure to watch these Christmas movies with them.
1. “Home Alone”
“This is Christmas. The season of perpetual hope. And I don’t care if I have to get out on your runway and hitchhike. If it costs me everything I own, if I have to sell my soul to the devil himself, I am going to get home to my son.”
2. “Elf”
“I think you’re really beautiful and I feel really warm when I’m around you and my tongue swells up. So…do you wanna eat food?”
3. “Ernest Saves Christmas”
“Christmas Is Just About My Favorite Time. Ever Since I Was A Little Kid, I Always Felt Like It Was My Own Personal Holiday”
4. “Scrooged”
“It’s Christmas Eve. It’s The One Night Of The Year When We All Act A Little Nicer, We Smile A Little Easier, We Cheer A Little More. For A Couple Of Hours Out Of The Whole Year We Are The People That We Always Hoped We Would Be.”
5. “Love Actually”
“Whenever I get gloomy with the state of the world, I think about the arrivals gate at Heathrow Airport. General opinion’s starting to make out that we live in a world of hatred and greed, but I don’t see that. It seems to me that love is everywhere. Often, it’s not particularly dignified or newsworthy, but it’s always there. Fathers and sons, mothers and daughters, husbands and wives, boyfriends, girlfriends, old friends. When the planes hit the Twin Towers, as far as I know, none of the phone calls from the people on board were messages of hate or revenge — they were all messages of love. If you look for it, I’ve got a sneaky feeling you’ll find that love actually is all around.”
6. “The Nightmare Before Christmas”
“Just because I cannot see it, doesn’t mean I can’t believe it!”
7. “Christmas Vacation”
“Nobody’s leaving. Nobody’s walking out on this fun, old-fashioned family Christmas. No, no. We’re all in this together. This is a full-blown, four-alarm holiday emergency here. We’re gonna press on and we’re gonna have the happ-happ-happiest Christmas since Bing Crosby tap danced with Danny-fucking-Kaye. And when Santa squeezes his fat white ass down that chimney tonight, he’s gonna find the jolliest bunch of assholes this side of the nuthouse.”
8. “The Polar Express”
“Just remember, the true spirit of Christmas lies in your heart.”
9. “How the Grinch Stole Christmas”
“It came without ribbons, it came without tags. It came without packages, boxes, or bags. Maybe Christmas doesn’t come from a store. Maybe Christmas (he thought) means a little bit more.”
10.“Charlie Brown Christmas”
“I never thought it was such a bad little tree. It’s not bad at all, really. Maybe it just needs a little love.”
11.“A Muppet Family Christmas”
“Another crisis solved. Yeah, there sure are a lot here. Well, all families start to come together. We always get together at Christmas. Yeah, life would just pass in a blur if it wasn’t for times like this.”
12. “National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation”
“We’re kicking off our fun old-fashion family Christmas by heading out into the country in the old front-wheel-drive sleigh to embrace the frosty majesty of the winter landscape and select that most important of Christmas symbols.”
13. “Disney’s A Christmas Carol”
“If I could work my will, every idiot who goes about with ‘Merry Christmas’ on his lips should be boiled with his own pudding, and buried with a stake of holly through his heart!”
14. “Miracle on 34th Street”
“You see, Mrs. Walker, this is quite an opportunity for me. For the past 50 years or so I’ve been getting more and more worried about Christmas. Seems we’re all so busy trying to beat the other fellow in making things go faster and look shinier and cost less that Christmas and I are sort of getting lost in the shuffle.”
15. “Harry Potter”
“One can never have enough socks. Another Christmas has come and gone and I didn’t get a single pair. People will insist on giving me books.”
