Every year gadget aficionados have always been anticipating the annual event that is known for showcasing up to date electronic gizmos and gadgets. This year the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) will be held in its typical venue in Las Vegas Nevada. The event will be on January 10-13,2 012 with pre-show events for the press people on the 8th of January. This is organized by the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA).
This year marks the 45th year of CES and it is expected that big names in the electronic industry including manufacturers, retailers, and journalists will be gathered together to see much anticipated products in 2012 and to have a glimpse of other great products that are being developed.
The very first CES was launched in 1967. Around seventeen thousand (17,000) attendees were gathered in an exhibit center in New York City that has an area of 150,000 square feet. To date, the number has grown to more than 100,000 attendees excluding the members of the press of about 5,000. The exhibit space also increased to over 2 million square feet.
Expected to be in the spotlight in this year’s CED are the following:
- OLED TV
- 3D TV without glasses
- Video Projectors
- TVs featuring 4k Resolution
- Wireless speaker products suitable for the home theater environment
The current technology will continue to advance with the introduction of reactive 3D TVs, more fashionable and relaxing 3D glasses and other merging products like media servers, media streamers, streaming blu-ray disc players, smart televisions, and media players.
Other highlights would be the inclusion of different tech zones like Eureka Park for small start-up companies that introduced superb product ideas, 3D at Home, HDMI, Innovations Design and Engineering Showcase.
2012 CES will also be the last chance for you to see Microsoft as one of the exhibitors and keynote speech giver.
